Martina Klarić
Martina Klarić (Šibenik, 1983) soprano, graduated in singing from the Zagreb Academy of Music in 2007 in the class of prof. Snježana Bujanović Stanislav. The same year she continued her artistic studies with the same professor, which she completed in 2010. She received two awards at the State Competition of Music and Dance Students: the first place in 2001, in the category of singers under 18, and the second place in 2009, in the category of postgraduates.
She made her debut at the Croatian National Theatre in 2004 with the role of the White Cat in Ravel’s one-act opera The Child and the Spells. In 2006 she became an associate in the Zagreb Croatian National Theatre Choir, and in 2010 a resident singer of the Opera ensemble. She interpreted solo bit parts in G. Puccini’s Suor Angelica, G. Verdi’s Rigoletto and The Troubadour, R. Wagner’s Parsifal and L. Janaček’s Jenufa. She also had a vocal solo part in Moliere-Lully’s comedy ballet Le Bourgeois gentilhomme, sang the Second Lady in W. A. Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Berta in G. Rossini’s Il Barber of Seville and Jelena in I. Zajc’s Nikola Šubić Zrinski. At the Croatian National Theatre in Šibenik, she sang Monica in G. C. Menotti’s opera The Medium. The role earned her a nomination for the 2011 Croatian Association of Dramatic Artists Award for extraordinary achievements of young artists under 30. She often performs as a soloist with the Croatian Baroque Ensemble and is a member of the Responsorium ensemble.
