Trio Adriatico

Trio Adriatico

Trio Adriatico is a unique ensemble specialised in historically informed performance of early music. The members of the ensemble are musicians living on the Adriatic, which is how the ensemble got its name. They met and gathered at a studio in Amsterdam, where they perfected their knowledge in performing early music, and each one of them works and plays music in various established ensembles in Croatia and throughout Europe. The specialty of Trio Adriatico is the combination of early music (especially Renaissance and early Baroque) and contemporary compositions, primarily by local Croatian authors. In this way, they not only promote Croatian composers on, until now, still rare instruments such as the baroque violin, viola da gamba and harpsichord, but also encourage further creativity for historical instruments that can sound in a completely new and attractive way. Trio Adriatico consists of prosperous musicians who play music on replicas of historical instruments: Helga Korbar, baroque violin, Mauro Colantonio, viola da gamba, traverso flute and Franjo Bilić, harpsichord. With their performances throughout Croatia and the Netherlands, they attracted the hearts of audiences and critics, supporting and expanding the scene of early music in Croatia and thus bringing the local cultural milieu closer to the European one.
