Anna Stegmann is a passionate performer and teacher of early and contemporary recorder music. She has toured throughout Europe, North America, Asia and Australia with her own chamber music groups Ensemble Odyssee and The Royal Wind Music and appears as a guest soloist with La Risonanza (Fabio Bonizzoni) and The New Dutch Academy, amongst others.
She has recorded several CDs for Pan Classics, Glossa and Lindoro. The past two recordings featured her as soloist in English recorder concertos by William Babell, Robert Woodcock and Giuseppe Sammartini.
She is regularly invited to teach workshops and master classes throughout Europe, North America and Australia. In 2014 she joined the staff of the Royal Academy of Music in London where she teaches a recorder class.
A native of Germany, she lives in Amsterdam. She studied with Paul Leenhouts at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and Winfried Michel at the Musikhochschule Münster and Musikakademie Kassel in Germany.
