
Luka Galuf
Luka Galuf showed an interest in playing the cello at the age of six and soon enrolled at the Elly Bašić Music School in Zagreb, studying under Professor Bernarda Debuš Redžić. During his education, he attended numerous masterclasses led by distinguished musicians and pedagogues such as Silvija Sondeckienė (Lithuania), Andrej Petrač (Slovenia), Alexander Volpov (Russia), Ilija Laporev (Luxembourg), Orfeo Mandozzi (Switzerland), and Pablo de Naverán (Spain).
He graduated from the prestigious International Menuhin Music Academy (Switzerland), where he studied with professors Pablo de Naverán and Clemens Hagen. During his time there, he was a member and later the principal cellist of the Menuhin Academy Soloists chamber orchestra. As part of the ensemble, he collaborated and performed with many internationally renowned artists, including Renaud Capuçon, Gábor Takács-Nagy, Liviu Prunaru, Gérard Caussé, Gilles Apap, Michael Guttman, Nelson Goerner, Boris Brovtsyn, Pierre Bleuse, Antonio Lysy, Anastasia Kobekina, Igor Keller, Oleg Kaskiv, Ivan Vukčević, among others.
As a chamber musician, he has performed at numerous festivals, notably the Menuhin Festival, Pablo Casals Festival, and Les Grands Interprètes. During his studies, he also took part in masterclasses with acclaimed musicians such as Gábor Takács-Nagy, Philippe Muller, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Alban Gerhardt, and many others.
Luka is the recipient of numerous awards, including two Oskar znanja prizes at Croatia’s national competitions for young musicians, two first prizes at the Petar Konjović International String Competition, a first prize at the Daleki Akordi International Competition, a second prize at the Janigro Junior International Competition, and the first prize in the 10th Vinko Lesić Young Artists Concert Series in 2021.
Since July 2023, he has been a permanent member of the Zagreb Soloists ensemble. He is currently a second-year student at the Academy of Music, University of Zagreb, in the class of Professor Monika Leskovar.
