Alessandro Tampieri

Alessandro Tampieri

Violinist, violist and a specialist in historical performance practice, Alessandro Tampieri joined Accademia Bizantina at a young age and developed a versatile career as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player, performing both modern and early repertoire.
His interest in 17th- and 18th-century music and his talent for improvisation led him to specialise in historically informed performance.
He has collaborated with leading ensembles including Il Giardino Armonico, L’Arpeggiata, Artaserse and Academia Montis Regalis. Since 2011, he has been Concertmaster of Accademia Bizantina and shares its artistic direction with Ottavio Dantone.
Tampieri performs regularly at major international festivals and has recorded for leading labels including Decca, Harmonia Mundi, Naïve and Hyperion. He teaches at the G. Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro. His recordings have received widespread critical acclaim, including the 2025 ICMA award for Invocazioni Mariane with Andreas Scholl and Accademia Bizantina.
