Anabela Barić
Anabela Barić has graduated opera singing at the Academy of Music in Zagreb in the class of maestro Giorgio Surian. She has an MA in archaeology. As a soloist she performed at the concert of Sanja Drakulić’s music in 2014, at the Pasionska baština manifestations in 2014 and 2016 and at the foyer of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb in 2015. With her colleagues she sang the role of Susanna in excerpts from Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro in Karlovac, Vukovar, Pag, Funtana, Brijuni and Zagreb in 2014, 2015 and 2016. She performed the role of Monsieur Rideau in the world premiere of Boris Papandopulo’s opera Madame Buffault at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb. She had her operatic debut as Barbarina in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro in the Croatian National Theatre at Zagreb in February 2016. In April and May 2016 she sang the role of Poppea in G. F. Händel’s Agrippina in the production of the Music Academy in Zagreb at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb. In March 2017 she sang the role of Lyška Bystrouška in L. Janaček’s Cunning Little Vixen in the production of the Music Academy in Zagreb at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb. She performed with the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra and performs regularly with the Croatian Baroque Ensemble and the Croatian National Radiotelevision Choir. She is member and soloist in the Antiphonus Vocal Ensemble. In September 2016 she performed at the International Late Summer Music Festival in Dubrovnik, Croatia (W. A. Mozart’s Coronation Mass). She was among the performers at the esteemed Korkyra Baroque Festival on the island of Korčula, Croatia, two years in a row (2016 and 2017). In February 2017 she had a solo concert of baroque arias at the Katara Opera House in Doha, Qatar with the Doha Baroque Ensemble. She was a quarterfinalist of the 10th Klaudia Taev International Competition for young opera singers that took place in Pärnu, Estonia in May 2017 and a second-round competitor of the international competition Pietro Antonio Cesti for singers specialized in baroque singing in Innsbruck, Austria in August 2017. In May 2018 she performed at the renowned baroque festival Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk in Melk, Austria with the Croatian Baroque Ensemble. She graduated with the role of Despina in W. A. Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte in the production of the Music Academy in Zagreb at the Croatian National Theatre.
