Camerata Øresund
The Copenhagen-based early music ensemble, Camerata Øresund, is a vibrant group of versatile and dedicated musicians. Founded in 2010 by artistic director and violinist, Peter Spissky, the group’s members are drawn from the Øresund region of southern Sweden and eastern Denmark – areas linked by the famous Øresund bridge.
Camerata Øresund is known for its communicative and energetic performance style and its explosive enthusiasm. The ensemble emphasizes creativity, flexible interaction between the musicians, and spontaneous communication in the moment of live performance. With numerous concerts each year in Denmark and abroad, Camerata Øresund’s performances show a multifaceted approach, ranging from performances of large choral works to thematic concerts for children, as well as developing innovative concepts such as a staged portrait of a composer or a collaboration with street dancers.
Whatever the form, Camerata, through its swinging and dancing performances, aims to cultivate new perspectives on the early music repertoire and dissolve the barriers between musicians and the audience.
