Georg Fritz
Georg Fritz received his musical education as an oboe and recorder player in Salzburg, Linz, Amsterdam, and Bremen. As a performer of baroque, classical, and romantic instruments he has been playing concerts all over Europe, Israel, Turkey, and China, collaborating with many prestigious ensembles (among others: Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Wiener Akademie, Ensemble Matheus, Barocksolisten München, Münchner Hofkapelle, Balthasar Neumann Ensemble, De Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht, Accademia Montis Regalis). In 2018 performances of operas and oratorios will lead him to Salzburg, Tel Aviv, Versailles, Milano, Brussels, and Amsterdam amongst others.
Furthermore, he is especially enthusiastic about the work with his own Ensemble Odyssee, performing on multiple concert tours throughout the last years with the ensemble and producing recordings for the labels Pan Classics and Glossa.
Next to his activities as an oboe player, he is also researching and making copies of historical oboes in his own workshop in Tyrol.
“… hier war die makellose Spielweise zu bewundern, mit der Georg Fritz seine fast klappenlose Barockoboe meisterte.” Klaus Trapp, October 2015
