Josipa Bilić

Josipa Bilić graduated with a degree in vocal performance summa cum laude in 2021 from the Music Academy in Zagreb, under the mentorship of Professor Lidija Horvat-Dunjko. Although still at the beginning of her career, she has already performed with many renowned conductors such as Pier Giorgio Morandi, Marius Burkert, David Danzmayr, and Hansjörg Albrecht, as well as with distinguished orchestras and ensembles including the philharmonic orchestras of Graz, Helsinki, Szeged, and Sarajevo, the Zagreb Philharmonic, the Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra, the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, the Varaždin Chamber Orchestra, Le Concert de l’Hôtel Dieu, the Zagreb Soloists, the Croatian Baroque Ensemble, and others.
She is one of ten laureates of the 12th edition of the prestigious baroque academy Le Jardin des Voix under the direction of conductor William Christie, in collaboration with the ensemble Les Arts Florissants. She won first prize at the esteemed International Baroque Singing Competition in Froville, France, where she also received a special award to record an album with the ensemble I Gemelli. Thanks to the Antonio Cesti Baroque Singing Competition, she made her debut at the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music (Innsbrucker Festwochen) as Alceste in Handel’s opera Arianna in Creta.
As a finalist of the prestigious Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition, she won sixth prize and made her debut at the Musiikitalo concert hall in Helsinki, performing with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra under Sir Mark Elder. She also made her debut at Opera Graz as part of the laureates’ concert of the Ferruccio Tagliavini Competition.
In 2024, she became a member of the soloist ensemble of the Croatian National Theatre (HNK) in Zagreb, where she has performed numerous roles, including: Gilda (Rigoletto), Pamina (The Magic Flute), Despina (Così fan tutte), Jelena (Nikola Šubić Zrinjski), Susanna (Susanna’s Secret), Sophie (Werther), and Adele (Die Fledermaus). In the title role of Emmerich Kálmán’s operetta Countess Maritza, she made her debut at the Komedija Theatre in Zagreb. She is also the recipient of numerous national artistic awards.
