Marin Čargo
Marin Čargo (1993), baritone
He graduated in solo singing at the Academy of Music in Zagreb, in the class ord. prof. Martin Zadro. He is the winner of the Rector’s Award in the academic year 2015/2016, 2016/2017, and 2019/2020, and Dean’s awards in the academic year 2017/2018. In the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb, he has performed in the roles of: Morales (G. Bizet, opera Carmen), Baron Duphol and Marques D’Obigny (G. Verdi, opera La traviata), Sagrestano and Sciarrone (G. Puccini, opera Tosca), Perichaud (G. Puccini, opera La rondine), Levi and Begler Beg (I. pl Zajc, opera Nikola Šubić Zrinjski), Commissario (G. Puccini, opera Madama Butterfly), Sprecher, (W.A.Mozart, opera The Magic Flute) Deputy (G. Verdi, opera Don Carlos).
He performed as a soloist in oratorio and concert works with the Zagreb Philharmonic, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, Croatian Baroque Ensemble, and Croatian Symphony Orchestra radio and television, at various events. So far, he has collaborated with numerous conductors: T. Fačini, M. Tarbuk, L. Voltolini, F. Krasovac, C. Campestrini, E. Boncompagni, E. Onofri, M. Galeati, M. Tradue, L. Passerini, S. Dinić, I. Repušić, P. G. Morandi, and with directors H. de Ana, M. Pontiggia, A. Bernard, D. Gimpel, D. Ruždjak Podolski, M. Behrends. He performed in concert in works by W. A. Mozart (Krönungsmesse, Spatzenmesse), J. S. Bach: (Selig ist der Mann, Magnificat, Aus der tiefen rufe ich, Herr, zu dir), M. A. Charpentier (Te Deum), L. Beethoven (Symphony 9), Ch. Gounod (Mors et vita), M. Durufle (Requiem), C. Saint-Saens (Oratorio de Noel), F. Schubert (Mass in G major), G. Faure (Requiem).
He improved his skills at numerous seminars, of which the Thomas masterclass is worth highlighting Hampson. He also participated in the Laboratoire lyrique workshop in Luxembourg, for the opera Don Pasquale, under the leadership of mo. U. Finazzi and director C. Panti Liberovici. He is currently a postgraduate doctoral student in the field of biomedicine at Faculty of Medicine in Split, and the field of research is the pathology of the voice and vocal cords of professional singers and students.
